We were very saddened by Sylvia Poirier's passing on November 24, 2025.

Sylvia was PEI-born and bred.

A former nurse educator and Holland College Registrar, Sylvia started painting
after she retired. A student of the distinguished artist and teacher Sandi Komst, she painted in acrylic and watercolour.

Sylvia was also a rug hooker having learned from long-time artist/hooker/teacher Jackie Carr.

Sylvia was also a contributor for the Island’s Red Magazine.
