Sylvia Poirier is PEI-born and bred.

A former nurse educator and Holland College Registrar, Sylvia started painting after she retired.

A student of the distinguished artist and teacher Sandi Komst, she paints in both acrylic and watercolour.

Sylvia is also a rug hooker having learned from long-time artist/hooker/teacher Jackie Carr.

If Sylvia is not painting, hooking, or talking politics, she may be writing for the next edition of the Island’s Red Magazine.
